VINCENNES, Ind. – The 2021 Region 24 Champion Vincennes University Volleyball team picked up their second player from VU’s Val/Sal program this week as Montague High School Salutatorian Morgan Netcott joins the Trailblazer volleyball program. Netcott is a five-foot six libero from Montague, Mich., becoming the first Trailblazer volleyball player from the state of Michigan. Netcott finishes out her senior season at Montague with 614 digs and 47 service aces, ending her high school career with 1,545 digs and 105 aces.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University volleyball team closed out their Fall 2021 regular season with a sweep over Region 24 opponent Kaskaskia 26-24, 25-16, 25-20. With the win, VU finishes with an unbeaten 10-0 record in Region 24 play and an impressive 20-3 record overall. The first set showed how evenly matched these two teams were, with the Blue Angels breaking the back-and-forth scoring to take a 10-7 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer volleyball team extended their winning streak to eight matches Saturday afternoon and continued their unbeaten run in Region 24 play with a five-set win over John. A Logan on the final day of the Showdown on the Wabash. The Trailblazers finished off a 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 24-26, 15-7 win over the visiting Volunteers. This match was close from the very beginning, with the two teams trading scoring runs of two or three with the Blazers able to take a 22-18 lead late in the opening set.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer volleyball team have won their last seven matches after picking up a pair of sweeps at the P.E. Complex Friday afternoon on day one of the Showdown on the Wabash Classic. Vincennes defeated Region 24 opponent Wabash Valley 25-20, 25-16, 25-17 and came back to sweep Gadsden State Community College 25-16, 25-12, 25-13. The Blazers opened the two-day classic by facing Region 24 opponent Wabash Valley for the second time in a week.

HARRISBURG, Ill. – The Vincennes University Volleyball team closed out a stretch of playing three road games in five days by traveling to take on Southeastern Illinois College Tuesday night and the Blazers came away with the strong sweep, 25-7, 25-20, 25-17. Vincennes looked to set the tone early in set one, building a big lead and not allowing the Falcons to score 10 points on their home floor, winning 25-7 to take the opening set. VU seemed to relax in set two and Southeastern Illinois rallied, battling back in the second set before Vincennes came away with the 25-20 win, giving the Blazers the 2-0 match lead.

MATTOON, Ill. – The Vincennes University Trailblazers concluded their back end of their Region 24 road back-to-back Saturday afternoon at Lake Land College in Mattoon. The Blazers came away with their second three-set sweep over the Lakers in just four days. Winning 26-24, 25-20, 25-19. This match was much closer than the one played Wednesday night at the P.E. Complex, with the Lakers defending their home floor well.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Vincennes University Volleyball team faced a difficult task on day one of the Parkland College Classic, Friday afternoon, facing a pair of Top-15-ranked NJCAA Division-II teams in host No. 3 Parkland and No. 14 Des Moines Area. The Blazers came away with the two match split, falling to Parkland 8-25, 12-25, 18-25, before coming back to pick up the five-set win over Des Moines Area, 18-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-12, 15-10. Vincennes didn’t get off to the best of starts for this weekend classic. Facing host and D-II No. 3-ranked Parkland College.

FAIRFIELD, Ill. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer volleyball team took their show on the road again Wednesday night, traveling to Fairfield to take on Frontier Community College. VU came away with the three-set sweep over the host Bobcats, winning 25-15, 25-18, 25-16. Vincennes found themselves in a tight back-and-forth battle to start the opening set. Frontier worked their way back from down 7-3 to even the score at nine-all.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazers picked up a pair of wins Saturday afternoon over East Central College 25-15, 25-22, 25-15 and Henry Ford Community College 25-14, 25-15, 25-9. VU extends their winning streak to four matches and have won 12-straight sets. The Trailblazers found themselves in a battle early against East Central, with the score set at 15-12 midway through the opening set.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazers shook off the rust after not playing for nearly three weeks by picking up the three-set sweep over Region 24 opponent Shawnee Friday night, 25-10, 25-7, 25-11. Vincennes got after the Saints early, after dropping the first point of the match, VU responded by scoring the next six points unanswered, ultimately going on a 9-1 scoring run. The early deficit was too much for Shawnee as the Blazers continued to keep their foot on the gas pedal, taking the opening set 25-10.

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Vincennes University volleyball team kicked off their season Friday night with an impressive first day at Wallace State’s “Diggin’ in the Den” tournament. The Trailblazers came away with a pair of five-set victories over tough opponent’s Roane State and Chattanooga State to open up the Fall 2021 campaign. VU put away previously unbeaten Roane State 18-25, 25-22, 24-26, 26-24, 15-11 and ended the day Friday by downing Chattanooga State 20-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-15, 15-13.

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Vincennes had to face a tough test early Saturday morning after winning two five-set matches against strong opponents the night before. The Trailblazers got the morning started by taking on host and No. 18 ranked Wallace State Community College. The Lions showed why they are one of the top-ranked teams in the country by downing the Blazers in straight sets in VU’s first match of the day.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Fall 2021 Trailblazer volleyball team are wrapping up their shortened offseason after playing their 2020 season last spring, as the Blazers prepare for an early tough test in Hanceville, Ala. The Trailblazers will begin their Fall 2021 campaign Friday, August 27 against Roane State Community College at 5 p.m. eastern, which will immediately be followed by a matchup with Chattanooga State Community College at 7 p.m. eastern. The two-day classic will conclude for the Blazers on Saturday, Aug. 28 when VU takes on host and No. 18-ranked Wallace State at 10 a.m., followed by the final game of the weekend against Bevill State at 12 p.m. eastern.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Volleyball team closed out their 2021 recruiting class with the big addition of six-foot-three Polish outside hitter Malgorzata Banasiak. Banasiak comes to Vincennes from Gdynia, Poland where she played for the SMS Police club team that took first place at the Polish Championships. “We were looking for a very athletic right-side player that can hit and block, because when you are in the right-front position you usually face the power hitter of the other team,” VUVB head coach Gary Sien said. “We were able to bring in a really solid athlete on that side in Malgorzata, who also has the ability to both serve and ball control as well.”
