KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Vincennes University Golf team was back in action earlier this week as the Trailblazers headed to Willow Creek Golf Club for the Brad Rose Collegiate Open in Knoxville, Tenn. VU fought hard against a tough field and came away with a strong sixth place finish as a team in the two-day 36-hole tournament hosted by Roane State Community College. Vincennes opened the tournament Monday afternoon where VU was led by freshmen Brock Naile (Trico, Ill.) and Kadin Gibson (Franklin, Ind.) with the pair leading VU with a pair of three-over par 74 rounds with three birdies each in round one.

ROBINSON, Ill. – The 2025 Spring Golf season continues to roll for the Vincennes University Trailblazers, heading just up the road to Quail Creek Country Club in Robinson, Ill. for the 2025 Lincoln Trail College Spring Invitational. The Trailblazers dominated the 36-hole, two-day tournament, coming away with a team win by 40 strokes and finishing with four Blazers in the top five and six in the top 10 individually. Vincennes opened the two day tournament Thursday afternoon with the first round, finishing the day with VU golfers claiming all spots in the top five.

NEWNAN, Ga. – The Vincennes University Golf team began their 2025 Spring schedule earlier this week when the Trailblazers headed to Newnan Country Club in Newnan, Ga. for the 2025 Spring Skyhawk Classic hosted by Point University. The Trailblazers opened the 2025 Spring schedule ranked No. 19 in the country in this week’s NJCAA Division II Golf rankings. VU got off to a strong start in the 54-hole, two day tournament, opening competition Monday morning with the first and second rounds before returning to the course Tuesday morning for round three.

INA, Ill. – The Vincennes University Golf team closed out their 2024 Fall schedule Monday and Tuesday at the 2024 Rend Lake College Fall Invitational hosted at the Rend Lake Golf Complex. The Trailblazers closed out the season strong with a second place finish as a team and three individuals placing in the top 10. Freshman Landon Gardner (Danville, Ind.) led the way for the Trailblazers on the links, opening the tournament Monday with an even par 72 before coming back Tuesday, battling strong winds to a final round 78 for a tournament total of 150 and a second place finish overall.

URBANA, Ill. and FARMINGTON, Mo. – The Vincennes University Golf team was very active earlier this week as the Trailblazers traveled to Urbana, Ill. for the 2024 Mid-West Athletic Conference Fall Preview Monday, before heading to Farmington, Mo. to take part in the 2024 Mineral Area College Fall Invitational Wednesday. The Blazers opened the week at Atkins Golf Club in Illinois for the 2024 MWAC Fall Preview, getting a first look at the course that will host the Conference tournament in the Spring. VU was led by freshman Kadin Gibson (Franklin, Ind.) who closed out the 36-hole, one day tournament with a 74 in round one and a 76 in round two to finish in a tie for 11th place overall.

PLYMOUTH, Ind. – Many of the Vincennes University Golf team got their first look at the host of the 2025 NJCAA Division II National Championship tournament earlier this week as the Trailblazers made the trip to Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth for the 2024 Swan Lake Preview. The Blazers faced a tough field of some of the best teams in the NJCAA and were able to overcome a slow start with a great bounce back second round to take eighth overall. VU opened the two-day tournament with the first round being held Monday afternoon.

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Vincennes University Golf team faced a tough, early season test Friday at the 2024 IU East Invitational hosted at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie. The Trailblazers found themselves as the only two-year program in the tournament for the first time this season, going up against some big four-year teams, including an NCAA Division I team from Chicago State University. The Vincennes team was more than able to hold their own in this tough tournament, finishing fifth overall as a team and were just four shots back of the third place teams.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Golf team continued their hot start to the 2024 Fall season over the weekend by picking up another tournament victory at the 2024 Vincennes University Fall Invitational at Cypress Hills Golf Club. VU freshman and Vincennes native Parker Steininger (Vincennes, Ind.) came away as the tournament medalist after winning a two-hole playoff against teammate and fellow VU freshman Kadin Gibson (Franklin, Ind.) by sinking a birdie putt on hole 10. Steininger used the home course to his advantage over the weekend, posting a two-over 72 on Saturday before climbing up the leaderboard Sunday morning with an even par 70 to finish with a two-round total of 142.

ROBINSON, Ill. – The Vincennes University Golf team got their 2024 Fall season started off in a big way Friday by winning the 36-hole, one day 2024 Lincoln Trail College Fall Invitational at Quail Creek Country Club. The Blazers took the top spot in the four-team field, posting a two-round team total of 600 with a 305 first round and a very impressive 295 second round. Vincennes had four golfers place in the top five on the individual leaderboard, led by freshman Brock Naile (Trico, Ill.) who placed second overall in his collegiate debut after posting a first round 75 and an even par 72 in round two for a tournament total of 147.

VINCENNES, Ind. - John Meeks, an experienced athletics administrator with an academic ethos, is the new Vincennes University Director of Athletics. VU President Dr. Chuck Johnson proudly announced the appointment of Meeks on Wednesday, August 21, during a VU Board of Trustees meeting. Meeks is a former college basketball coach currently serving as the Director of Athletics at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, Washington. He will begin his role leading VU Athletics on Monday, Sept. 9.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The 2023-24 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Academic awards were announced Thursday, with Vincennes University well represented. First came the announcement of the 2023-24 Academic Teams of the Year, with teams needing to hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better to be honored. Nearly 1,200 teams were named across the NJCAA members colleges and sports, with Vincennes University being named twice.
