VU’s Lebron Thomas earns First Team All-American honors

VINCENNES, Ind. – The postseason recognitions continued to roll in for VU sophomore Lebron Thomas (Bishopville, S.C.) earlier this week as Thomas earned NJCAA Division I All-American honors for the second time in his VU career.

"This means a lot to me," Thomas said. "It just shows how much my hard work pays off. I am also super grateful and blessed to be in this position."

Thomas earned First Team All-American honors after another outstanding season with the Trailblazers where he averaged 14.3 points, 5.8 assists and 4 rebounds per game for the Blazers.

Thomas becomes the 60th All-American honoree in VU basketball history, including being the eighth Trailblazer to be a two-time All-American.

"It means a lot to now be a two-time All-American," Thomas added. "I am very honored to be a part of the VU greats and can be remembered for what I have done here and how this has impacted and changed my life forever."

Thomas closed out his VU career with 1,000 career points, becoming the 40th member of the VU 1,000-point club, while also having 336 assists, 278 rebounds, 83 steals and 46 blocks.

Thomas helped guide the Trailblazers to a record of 58-9 in his two seasons playing for the Blazers, winning two Region 24 regular season championships, including having a perfect 16-0 regular season Region record in 2025 and also guided the Blazers to the 2024 Region 24 tournament Championship.

Thomas helped the Blazers reach the NJCAA Division I National Tournament the last two years and reached the National Quarterfinals in 2025 while being named to the National Championships All-Tournament team.

In his VU career Thomas has also twice been named to the All-Region 24 team and earning Region 24 Player of the Year honors this past season.

"I want to say that I couldn't do this without the coaches, teammates and everyone who helped me to be a better me," Thomas said. "I'm grateful to be able to call myself a two-time All-American at a great place with great people."
