VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team took the field at Jerry Blemker Field for one last time during the 2022 Spring regular season Saturday afternoon and did not disappoint on Sophomore Recognition Day. Vincennes picked up two wins and completed the four-game weekend sweep over John Wood, winning game one of the day 6-2 and taking game two 12-0 in five innings. VU got on the board first in game one of the day when sophomore Ryan Bartley (Tuscola, Ill.) led off the third inning with a single.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team closed out their road Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) season with a doubleheader at Parkland College Monday afternoon. The Trailblazers fell behind early in both games and were unable to recover as the Cobras took game one of the day 15-4 and game two 10-2. Game one of the day got off to a shaky start for the Blazers as Parkland put up a big five-run inning in the second and tacked on another run in the third to take an early 6-0 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team opened their four-game Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series Sunday afternoon by splitting the first two games with Parkland College at Jerry Blemker Field. The Trailblazers took game one over the Cobras 7-4 behind yet another really great pitching performance behind sophomore Connor VanLannen (Clinton, Ind.). Parkland battled back to take game two in comeback fashion, winning 7-5 over Vincennes.

ALTON, Ill. – VU sophomore center fielder Colin Long (Evansville, Ind.) broke a 7-7 tie in game four of Vincennes’ four-game Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series at Lewis & Clark with a solo home run in the eighth inning to help give VU a 9-7 win to close out the series. Vincennes fell in the first game of the day 5-0 before battling back to take game two 9-7 and coming home with a 2-2 series split. Lewis & Clark wasted little time in game one of the day, scoring three runs in the first and adding another run in the second to take a 4-0 early lead.

Vincennes began the weekend series with a bang, scoring two runs in the first inning on back-to-back RBI singles by freshman Colton Evans (Henderson, Ky.) and sophomore Connor VanLannen (Clinton, Ind.).

Vincennes fell in the first game of the day to NJCAA Division-I No. 7 Wabash Valley 16-0 in five innings and fell 16-7 to NJCAA Division-II No. 6-ranked Kellogg Community College in the afternoon game. Wabash Valley wasted little time getting on the scoreboard in the first game of the day, as the leadoff hitter got on base with a single and came around to score on a fielding error later in the inning, giving the Warriors a 1-0 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball season is getting into full swing at Jerry Blemker Field as the Trailblazers hosted Morton College and Joliet Junior College Sunday, Feb. 27 and Monday Feb. 28. Vincennes came away with a 1-2 record over the three-game set, after dropping the first two 10-5 and 10-3 to Morton and Joliet on Sunday, before coming back Monday to win 7-2 over Joliet. The three-game home weekend started with the Trailblazers hosting Morton College from Cicero, Ill.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team began their Spring 2022 home season at Jerry Blemker Field with a pair of wins over Ancilla and South Suburban. The Trailblazers won 15-5 in six innings over Ancilla before taking game two 8-7 over the South Suburban Bulldogs on a walk-off sac fly by freshman Nick Kapostasy (Cincinnati, Ohio). In the first game of the day, the Ancilla Chargers struck first, scoring in the top of the first on game one starter Braedon Nichols (Sullivan, Ind.)

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Vincennes sophomore Connor VanLannen (Clinton, Ind.) took the mound for Sunday’s game of the Trailblazers three-game weekend set with the Cougars of Cleveland State Community College and did not allow a hit in his five innings of work. The Trailblazers were led by their starting pitching and got some big at-bats at the plate but were ultimately swept in the third-game series 7-4, 4-1, 6-5. The weekend series began Saturday with a doubleheader and VU wasted little time at the plate, with leadoff hitter Ethan Burdette (Linton, Ind.) beginning the season with a single.
