NORMAL, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball season likely came to an end Thursday afternoon as the Blazers dropped their elimination game to Danville Area 11-1 on Day Two of the Mid-West Athletic Conference tournament. The Jaguars wasted little time getting the scoring started with a run in the first. Danville would continue to add to their lead with runs in the second and third innings, taking a 3-0 early lead.

NORMAL, Ill – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team was quickly facing elimination on the first day of the Mid-West Athletic Conference baseball tournament Wednesday night after dropping their first game of the day to Parkland 6-2. Vincennes rebounded however, aided by a sixth inning solo home run by Isaac Lane as VU eliminated host Heartland College by the score 3-2. Parkland got the day started early in VU’s first game, with their third batter of the game hitting a solo home run. The Cobras would add an additional run in the second on an RBI double to take a 2-0 early lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazers closed out their spring 2021 regular season at Jerry Blemker Field with a double-header sweep of Spoon River. Winning game one 9-0 and game two 11-3 in seven innings. The Blazers got on the board first in game one when Colin Long ripped a triple down the right field line, scoring Landen Freestone. Long would later score on a single by Max Flock. Vincennes would again score two runs in the third on a trio of doubles by Peyton Lane, Trent Weiss and Landen Freestone, giving VU a 4-0 lead.

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team closed out their penultimate conference series of the 2021 regular season at Illinois Central Monday afternoon and fell 2-1 in game one and 7-5 in game two. The blue and gold found themselves matched up in a pitcher’s duel in game one of the day as the two teams managed to remain scoreless until the bottom of the fifth. Illinois Central scored a run in the fifth, which VU answered back with a run in the sixth to tie, but ICC came back with a run in the sixth as well, which would be the winning run.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team picked up a home-conference split over Illinois Central at Jerry Blemker Field Friday afternoon, dropping game one 6-5 before coming back to win game two in run-rule fashion 12-2. The Trailblazers struck first in game one after Trent Weiss drove in Garrett Lawson with a double in the third. Brody Ruggles later score on a sac fly off the bat of Peyton Lane to give VU the 2-0 early lead. Vincennes expanded their lead in the seventh as Landen Freestone led off the inning with a walk. Devon Rodgers entered to pinch run for Freestone and came around to score on a single by Peyton Lane.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team closed out their four-game conference series with No. 12 Parkland in Champaign Sunday afternoon and VU came away with a two-game split after Blazer starter Sam Steimel pitched a nine-inning complete game shutout. Parkland got on the scoreboard early in game one, scoring a run in the first inning. Vincennes would respond by taking the lead in the third after a pair of runs gave the Blazers a 2-1 advantage.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazers continued their Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) season with Friday’s doubleheader against No. 12-ranked Parkland at Jerry Blemker Field. The Cobras came away with the two-game sweep winning 5-4 and 11-0. Parkland struck first in game one, scoring a run in the first, then adding a pair of runs in the fifth and a run in the seventh to hold a 4-0 lead. Parkland’s lead continued to grow in the eighth to 5-0.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Trailblazer baseball team continued their MWAC conference schedule Friday afternoon, hosting Heartland Community College in the first two games of a four-game weekend set. Vincennes fell in both games after some excellent pitching performances on both sides, dropping game one, 3-1 and game two 7-0. VU was the first time to score in game one, when Peyton Lane singled in Max Flock in the third inning to give the Blazers a 1-0 lead.

The Vincennes University baseball team hit the road this weekend to take on Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill Friday and Ivy Tech-Northwest in Fort Wayne Saturday for a pair of double-header matchups. The Trailblazers came away with the four-game split, winning one game over the Kaskaskia and one over Ivy Tech. VU got the weekend started at Kaskaskia and the Blue Devils jumped out early, building a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second.

DANVILLE, Ill. – In the final two games of their four-game conference series with the Jaguars of Danville Area, the Vincennes University baseball team fell by the scores of 8-0 and 12-4 Monday afternoon. Danville opened game one scoring early, picking up one run in the second and three more in the third to take a 4-0 lead into the fifth. The Jaguars would continue to build on their lead, scoring three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth on their way to a game one 8-0 win.

The back-and-forth battle saw Vincennes ahead 7-5 after six innings, before Lewis & Clark evened the score with a pair of runs in the seventh.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball hosted their first home game of the season Friday afternoon and came away with a win over Joliet. The Friday matchup was supposed to feature a doubleheader, but rain suspended the second game in the third inning. The Trailblazers fell behind early, giving up three runs in the top of the first. Vincennes was able to respond quickly though as sophomore second baseman Trent Weiss launched a solo home run in the bottom of the first.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Vincennes University baseball (1-1) team opened their 2021 spring schedule with a split doubleheader with Cleveland State CC (7-5) in Cleveland, Tennessee. Game 1 The VU offense for the most part was shut down by Cleveland State starting pitcher Bryce Jenkins, who threw six scoreless innings. Vincennes only had three hits and were led by freshman SS Peyton Lane who was 2-3 and RS freshman RF Isaac Lane who had the Trailblazer's other hit.
