The Lady Blazers opened the game strong, taking a quick 4-2 lead over the Lady Blue Storm before SWIC answered back with six straight points to take an 8-4 early lead.

The Lady Blazers earned the No. 2 seed overall and played host to No. 7 seed Lincoln Trail College inside the Physical Education Complex to begin the tournament. VU overcame a slow start and were able to pull away with an 83-59 victory over the Lady Statesmen, with six Lady Trailblazers scoring in double figures Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Blazers played from behind for most of the game and looked to be building momentum with a late comeback in the fourth quarter, but just ran out of time as VU fell to the Lady Vols 76-73. The Lady Blazers got off to an excellent start Monday night, using a big 13-0 first quarter run to grab an early 15-8 lead over the Lady Vikings at the end of the first quarter.

Moberly Area came away with a 73-61 victory earlier this season in Moberly and were able to complete the season sweep as the Lady Blazers came out on the wrong side of a 76-71 final score. The two teams came out firing in the opening quarter, trading basket after basket with the Lady Greyhounds holding a 28-21 lead after a high scoring opening 10 minutes.

The Lady Blazers got their first win of the season with a big 111-40 victory over the Lady Statesmen, also notching career win number one for VU Interim Head Coach Ingrida Hartsfield. VU got the game off to a great start, opening the game on a 20-3 scoring run before continuing to roll through the first quarter ending the period with five straight points to lead 29-8 after the first 10 minutes of action.
