VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team earned some pretty special recognition Monday morning as 10 members of the VU club earned Academic All-Conference honors for the Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC). These athletes finished the year with an overall GPA above 3.5 to be recognized for this honor. The VU honorees are;

NORMAL, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball season came to an abrupt end Friday evening as the Trailblazers fell in their two games to start the 2024 NJCAA Division II Region 24 Pod A Tournament hosted by Heartland Community College in Normal, Ill. The Blazers fell to host and defending National Champion Heartland C.C. 10-9 on a walk-off sac fly, before falling to Spoon River 11-8 in the very next game. VU got off to a great start to the day in game one against Heartland Community College, opening up the scoring in the fourth with four big runs.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The 2024 Vincennes University Spring regular season came to a close Sunday evening as the Blazers headed up to Champaign for the final two games of their four-game split Mid-West Athletic Conference series with Parkland College. The Trailblazers held early leads in both games Sunday but came out on the wrong end of a 9-3 final score in game one and a 10-6 final score in 11 innings in game two. The day got off to a pretty good start for the Trailblazers, with sophomore Carter Whitehead (Huntingburg, Ind.) leading off the game with a single and later scoring the first run of game one on an RBI single by sophomore Trevor Newman (Fort Wayne, Ind.).

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team put on a good show Friday afternoon at Jerry Blemker Field, facing NJCAA Division I No. 17-ranked John A. Logan College and falling by the final score of 12-6. VU battled throughout and held a 4-1 lead over the Volunteers heading into the sixth inning, but a pair of big innings for the Vols ultimately flipped the game. The Trailblazers got off to a great start Friday afternoon, scoring two runs in the first after sophomore Kade Hinton (Fort Wayne, Ind.) reached on a walk and came around to score on an RBI double by redshirt freshman Holden Clifton (Louisville, Ill.).

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazers returned to Jerry Blemker Field Tuesday night for a single game against Olney Central College and were able to score early and often to come away with a big 16-12 victory over the Blue Knights. The Blazers got off to a quick start Tuesday night after Olney Central scored a pair in the first, VU answered back with six runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Eight of the first nine VU batters reached base safely and the Blazers were able to score on an RBI single by sophomore Brandon Juarez (Evansville, Ind.), a walk pitch and back-to-back RBI singles by freshmen Reed Drabant (Columbia, Ill.) and Jaydon Bradbury (Terre Haute, Ind.).

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team resumed their Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) schedule Saturday afternoon at Jerry Blemker Field, playing host to Danville Area Community College in the first two games of a four-game weekend set. The Blazers fell behind early and came up on the wrong end of a 10-5 and 9-6 final scores in the conference doubleheader. The day got off to a rocky start for the Trailblazers, with the Jaguars breaking the scoreless tie first with three runs in the second and adding another run in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball closed out the weekend Sunday afternoon at Jerry Blemker Field with the final two games of their four game Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series with the Cougars of Illinois Central College. The Trailblazers unfortunately came up on the wrong end of a 7-0 game one and an 11-5 final in game two Sunday. VU did not get off to a great start at Jerry Blemker Field, with the Cougars quickly taking control of game one with a pair of runs in the first and second innings to take an early 4-0 lead.

OLNEY, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team hit the dirt again Tuesday afternoon against nearby Olney Central College in Olney, Ill. The Blazers were looking to get some players action in different spots on the field and unfortunately came out on the wrong end of a 15-5 final score to the Blue Knights. Olney Central got the scoring started Tuesday afternoon with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, which were immediately answered with a pair of runs by VU in the second.

GODFREY, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team closed out the opening weekend of Mid-West Athletic Conference play Sunday afternoon in style, falling in game one 5-3 before taking game two at Lewis & Clark Community College 12-1 thanks to a big eight-run second inning. Vincennes got off to a bit of a rocky start Sunday afternoon in game one of the day, with Lewis & Clark getting on the scoreboard first with a run in the first inning. VU would answer back however in the second inning after freshman Corbin Napier (Indianapolis, Ind.) reached on a hit by pitch and moved up to second on a wild pitch, sophomore Jace Parnin (Fort Wayne, Ind.) drove him in on an RBI double to even the score at 1-1.

GODFREY, Ill. – The wind was blowing out for most of Saturday afternoon as the Vincennes University baseball team opened Mid-West Athletic Conference play at Lewis & Clark Community College and the Trailblazer bats took full advantage, clubbing four home runs and scoring 25 runs over two games. VU got the afternoon started with a big late comeback win in game one over L&C 17-9 before closing out the day by winning game two 8-5. The Vincennes bats got off to a slow start Saturday, with Lewis & Clark jumping on the scoreboard first with a run in the second.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team headed back to Jerry Blemker Field Wednesday afternoon for their final game before the start of the Mid-West Athletic Conference schedule this weekend against Lake Land College from Mattoon Ill. The Blazers got off to a great start, opening the scoring in the first after sophomore Jack Robinson (Mooresville, Ind.) reached base on a dropped third strike. Redshirt freshman (Louisville, Ill.) Holden Clifton would follow that with a single before freshman Nate Montgomery (Lexington, Ind.) grounded into a fielder’s choice and sophomore Brandon Juarez (Evansville, Ind.) drove in Robinson with an RBI single to give VU an early 1-0 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University Head Baseball Coach arrived at Jerry Blemker Field Saturday morning two wins shy of 400 career wins as Trailblazers Head Coach and his team gave him exactly two wins on the day. The Trailblazers picked up the doubleheader sweep thanks to some sixth inning comebacks to win 5-3 over Lincoln Trail College and 17-14 over Glen Oaks Community College. VU began their day against NJCAA Division I opponent Lincoln Trail College.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team ended a very productive weekend on a bad note Sunday morning at Jerry Blemker Field. The Blazers hosted a rematch against the No. 12-ranked Kellogg Community College Bruins and came up on the bad end of some big innings to fall 26-8 to end the weekend. VU got off to a fast start Sunday morning, breaking open the scoring in the bottom of the first with an RBI single by redshirt freshman Holden Clifton (Louisville, Ill.) and a two RBI single by freshman Nate Montgomery (Lexington, Ind.).

VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University sophomore starting pitcher Logan Medsker (Marshall, Ill.) wasted little time breaking his new career-high in strikeouts from last weekend, coming out Friday night against the No. 12-ranked Kellogg Community College Bruins and setting a new career-high with 11 strikeouts on the game. Medsker’s excellent pitching performance helped guide the Trailblazers to a 2-1 upset victory over the Bruins to kick off another busy weekend of Junior College baseball at Jerry Blemker Field. The game began as another pitcher’s duel for the Trailblazers, with both offenses held scoreless through the first three innings.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team hit the diamond for another busy day of baseball Saturday at Jerry Blemker Field. The Trailblazers kicked off their split doubleheader day by falling to Olney Central College 8-1 before bouncing back to close out the day with a big 12-2 win over NJCAA Division III No. 7-ranked Joliet Junior College. VU’s offense came alive with a big six run inning against Joliet, which helped propel the Blazers to a run-rule, walk-off victory.

VINCENNES Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team closed out another busy weekend of NJCAA baseball at Jerry Blemker Field Sunday afternoon, falling to Morton College from Cicero, Ill. 13-4. The VU pitching staff allowed six walks in the game and hit an additional five batters Sunday, which the Panthers pounced on with the help of some timely two out hitting. Morton College got the scoring going early, breaking the game open in the second with five runs before adding another run in the fourth to increase their lead to 6-0.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team opened a busy weekend slate of games at Jerry Blemker Field under the lights Friday night against Morton College from Cicero, Ill. The Blazers battled early but the game got away late as the Panthers came away with an 18-6 victory over Vincennes. VU got off to a great start Friday night, with sophomore starting pitcher Logan Medsker (Marshall, Ill.) setting the tone by striking out the final two batters of the first inning.

CARTERVILLE, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team has opened their 2024 regular season with six straight games against NJCAA Division I opponents including Monday’s doubleheader vs. South Suburban College from South Holland, Ill. The doubleheader was originally scheduled to take place at VU’s Jerry Blemker Field, but was moved to John A. Logan College in Carterville, Ill. Saturday morning due to the snow in Vincennes on Friday. The Trailblazer bats took a little bit to get going and VU ultimately dropped the doubleheader to the Bulldogs 10-0 and 9-4.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team opened Jerry Blemker Field for the first time during this Spring 2024 season Thursday afternoon for a single nine-inning contest against Frontier Community College from Fairfield, Ill. The Trailblazers looked to be rolling early before a big six run fifth inning by the Bobcats completely shifted momentum. VU fought hard throughout but were unable to regain the lead as Frontier came away with the 8-7 victory.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball season continued Thursday afternoon as the Blazers headed back down to Tennessee for a doubleheader showdown with Cleveland State Community College. The Blazers dropped both games of the doubleheader to the host Cougars, falling in game one 8-3 before dropping game two 5-4. VU got the day started off with a bang as sophomore Dylan Ecken (Louisville, Ky.) led off the opening game of the doubleheader with a solo home run, his second home run of the season.

GALLATIN, Tenn. – Believe it or not, it’s baseball season at Vincennes University and the Trailblazers began their 2024 campaign Saturday afternoon in Gallatin, Tenn. with a single, nine-inning showdown with the Pioneers of Volunteer State Community College. The Trailblazers offense got off to a slow start but got an immediate burst from sophomore Dylan Ecken (Louisville, Ky.) who came through with a three-run home run and a two-RBI double in his first two at bats for the Trailblazers. VU would go on to hold the Pioneers at bay on the mound, with the VU pitching staff allowing only one hit and recording 16 strikeouts on the game as VU came away with the 7-2 season opener victory.
