Vincennes came away with a fourth-place finish after the 36-hole tournament, with freshman Paxton Schwomeyer (Oakland City, Ind.) finishing fourth as an individual scorer.

"Paxton has a lot of potential," VU head coach Dennis Chattin said. "I believe once he gains confidence, he will be a real force."
Sophomore Bryce Kirchner (North Vernon, Ind.) also managed to take four shots off of his first round score, dropping from an 80 to a 76, good for a seventh-place finish on the leaderboard.
Freshmen Luke VanDeventer (Columbus, Ind.), Garrett Hulfachor (Lawrenceville, Ill.) and Sam Stewart (Floyds Knob, Ind.) all finished the tournament within a single shot of each other.
VanDeventer finished with a first round 82 and an 83 in the final round. Hulfachor shot an 82 to start the day and an 84 in the final round. Stewart started well with an 81 in the opening round, before ending the day with an 85.
Trailblazer freshmen Dominic DePass (Washington, Ind.) and Zeke Niehaus (Evansville, Ind.) finished out the Trailblazer scorers with DePass finishing the first round with an 83 and an 86 in the final round.
Niehaus showed the largest improvement from any VU golfer today, taking eight shots off his first round 90 to finish with an 82 in the second round.
"The course was playing tough, at least according to the scores," Chattin added. "I don't think we played our best but we are just showing our youth, with four of our top five being freshmen."
"I just don't think we have the patience or confidence just yet," Chattin said. "I see flashes of our ability but we seem to not be able to finish and with team golf, you have to have at least four players putting up good scores."
"Quail Creek can be tough from the back tees, where we played today, but we have played it enough to play better."
