HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The No. 15 seed Vincennes University Trailblazers had their season come to an end Thursday afternoon at the hands of No. 7 Northwest Florida State by the final score of 68-55. VU sophomore Shilo Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind.) closed out his Trailblazer career in fitting fashion, ending with an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double, his sixth of the season and 21st in a Vincennes uniform. Vincennes got off to a slow start out of the gates Thursday and the defending National Champion Raiders pounced on the opportunity.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The No. 15 Vincennes University Trailblazers advanced to the NJCAA Division I National Quarterfinals Tuesday night after defeating No. 2 College of Southern Idaho 75-70. VU’s zone defense in the first half caused the Golden Eagles fits as CSI’s shooters went 0-9 in the first half from behind the three-point arc and VU held Southern Idaho to just 19 points in the opening 20 minutes of play. The Trailblazers struck first early at the Hutchinson Sports Arena, with VU quickly jumping out to an early 5-0 lead.
INA, Ill. – The No. 14-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers will be one of many teams looking to receive an At-Large bid to the 2023 NJCAA Division I National Tournament this Sunday after VU fell to No. 2 John A. Logan 73-66 in the Region 24 Championship game Friday night. The Trailblazers got off to a really good start in the first few minutes Friday night, forcing the Volunteers to two turnovers in their first three possessions and capitalizing on the other end to take an early 4-0 lead. John A Logan would get things going offensively and score the next seven points to take the lead.
INA, Ill. – The No. 14-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers had to rally late Wednesday night when VU squared off against No. 3-seeded Southwestern Illinois College in the semifinals of the Region 24 tournament at Rend Lake College. Vincennes fell behind by as many as nine early in the second half but managed to battle back and pick up the 66-59 victory. The game was close from the tip, with both teams trading baskets in the early stages of the opening half, before the Blue Storm grabbed first control of the game with a 7-0 run to take a 15-8 lead.

The Trailblazers got off to a slow start Saturday afternoon with Wabash Valley riding the wave of the ‘Sophomore Night’ crowd to an early 12-4 lead. VU was able to bounce back and take their first lead of the game at 20-18 midway through the first half of play.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The No. 10-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers faced a tough, 40-minute physical battle Wednesday night against Southwestern Illinois College at the P.E. Complex and came away with the 65-62 win. SWIC received votes for the NJCAA Top-25 this week but were unable to crack the list and wasted little time showing why many believe they should be in the Top-25 this week. This game was a back-and-forth battle from the start, with neither team really able to break lose in the early going.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The No. 12-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers are beginning to round into postseason shape as the 2022-23 regular season is quickly winding down, with the Trailblazers picking up another strong 86-60 win over Lincoln Trail Wednesday night. Vincennes set the tone early Wednesday night, quickly jumping out to a 17-6 lead before extending their lead to 30-11 midway through the first half of play. The Statesmen looked to answer back, but were only able to cut the margin down to 16 as VU rode into the halftime break holding a 43-25 lead.
MATTOON, Ill. – The No. 9-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers bounced back in a big way after Wednesday’s defeat, going on the road at Lake Land College and coming away with the 97-69 victory. VU broke free first midway through the first half Saturday with a 10-0 scoring run to take a 27-13 lead over the host Lakers. The Trailblazers lead would grow to as many as 20 in the first half as VU headed into the halftime break with a 49-30 advantage.

GODFREY, Ill. – The No. 12-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers hit the road to Godfrey for the ‘Battle of the Blazers’ against Lewis & Clark Community College a day later than originally scheduled and battled to come away with the 71-63 Region 24 road win. The two teams traded baskets early Thursday night with the two teams remaining even on the scoreboard through the first part of the opening half of play. VU was the first to break away after an 8-0 scoring run gave the Blue and Gold a 22-16 advantage.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The No. 8-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers looked to bounce back in a big way after Monday night’s loss at Southwestern Illinois and came away with a big 23-point win over Wabash Valley College 84-61. The Trailblazers got off to a slow start on the home floor as the Warriors quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead. VU would answer back however and battled Wabash Valley until VU used a 12-0 scoring run to take a 29-20 lead late in the first half.

VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University sophomore Caleb Johnson (N. Preston, Nova Scotia) recorded his second double-double in his Trailblazer career Saturday night as the Blazers won 116-64 over Harry S. Truman College. Johnson’s 25 points and 12 rebounds were good enough to match his 27-point, 10-rebound double-double earlier this season against the Falcons in Chicago. The Trailblazers’ 116 points Saturday night is the most by a VU team against an NJCAA Division I opponent since Jan. 30, 2019, when VU scored 122 at Southeastern Illinois.

Complex, picking up a big 81-57 win over No. 16-ranked Northeast Mississippi. The No. 23 Trailblazers grabbed control of the game early in this NJCAA Top-25 matchup, using a quick 11-0 run to take an early 13-5 lead. Vincennes would expand their lead to 20-8 midway through the first half as the Tigers looked to chip away at the deficit heading into the half but could only cut the margin to 10.

Complex, defeating Malcolm X Community College 106-57 on the first day of the annual Kiwanis Classic. VU got off to a quick start, grabbing an early four-point lead after sophomore guard Tasos Cook (Columbus, Ohio) scored the first seven points for the Blazers. Malcolm X responded back in the hostile environment to grab the lead at 15-11.
