The Trailblazers held early leads in both games Sunday but came out on the wrong end of a 9-3 final score in game one and a 10-6 final score in 11 innings in game two. Unfortunately for the host Trailblazers, the late comebacks were not enough as John Wood took game one of the day 13-12 before closing out the series in game two 8-7. Vincennes had an uphill battle from the beginning Sunday afternoon, with John Wood opening game one of the day with a run in the first, four runs in the second and a run in the third to take an early 6-0 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team returned home to begin their Mid-West Athletic Conference weekend series with John Wood Community College Saturday afternoon. ROBINSON, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team got off to an excellent start Thursday evening at Lincoln Trail College, holding a 5-1 lead after four innings. But the Trailblazers were unable to keep the Statesmen down as Lincoln Trail scored two in the seventh and two in the eighth to complete a late comeback and take the game 6-5 over Vincennes. VU wasted little time getting started Thursday at Lincoln Trail, with the second batter of the game, sophomore Jack Robinson (Mooresville, Ind.) hitting a single, followed by a big two-run home run by sophomore Blake Heyerly (Monroe, Ind.), his third home run of the season and third career home run.

CANTON, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team closed out their weekend Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series at Spoon River College Sunday afternoon. NORMAL, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team closed out their Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series Tuesday afternoon against the defending National Champion Heartland Community College in Normal, Ill. Vincennes fell behind early in game one of the day to the highly rated Hawks, surrendering a run in each of the first three innings to trail 3-0.

MT. CARMEL, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team hit the field for the first time in a full week Friday afternoon, heading down to nearby Wabash Valley College for a single nine-inning game. The Blazers found themselves in another close ballgame with a tough NJCAA Division I program and unfortunately came out on the wrong end of a 2-0 final score. VU fought hard throughout but were unable to regain the lead as Frontier came away with the 8-7 victory.
