VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University sophomore Peyton Lane (New Paris, Ohio) and freshman Colton Evans (Henderson, Ky.) received Second-Team All-Conference honors this past weekend at the 2022 Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) Baseball Tournament in Normal, IL. VU sophomore Luke Osborn (Perrysville, Ind.) was named All-Conference Honorable Mention and sophomore Colin Long (Evansville, Ind.) was named to the 2022 MWAC Rawlings Gold Glove Team. VU shortstop and Northern Kentucky signee Peyton Lane earned Second-Team All-Conference honors after posting a .399 batting average, with 22 doubles and 29 RBI’s, while drawing 18 walks in 50 games this season.

NORMAL, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball season likely came to a close Thursday afternoon at the Corn Crib in Normal, Ill. with the No. 5 seed Blazers falling 6-5 to No. 3-seed Parkland College in an elimination game at the Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) tournament. The game Thursday began almost exactly like VU’s opening round game against Danville Area with Vincennes trailing early after Parkland hit a three-run home run in the first inning. VU would get a run back in the second however, after a leadoff triple by sophomore Connor VanLannen (Clinton, Ind.). VanLannen would later score on a groundout by freshman Jordan Roth (Delphi, Ind.).

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team opened their final Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series of the regular season Friday afternoon at Jerry Blemker Field against John Wood Community College. Vincennes earned a spot in the MWAC Conference postseason tournament next week with a game one 7-2 win and continued to better their chances of getting a higher seed with a 5-1 game two win. John Wood got on the board first in game one in the third inning, taking an early 1-0 lead over the host Trailblazers.

CARMEL, Ill. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team closed out the road portion of their 2022 Spring regular season Tuesday afternoon, taking the short trip down to face NJCAA Division I No. 3-ranked Wabash Valley. The Warriors jumped out ahead early and held on as Vincennes fell by the final score of 11-1. Wabash Valley jumped on the scoreboard early and in a big way in the first inning, scoring five runs in the first and adding an additional run in the second to take an early 6-0 lead.

Vincennes fell in the first game of the day 5-0 before battling back to take game two 9-7 and coming home with a 2-2 series split. Lewis & Clark wasted little time in game one of the day, scoring three runs in the first and adding another run in the second to take a 4-0 early lead.

The day began by finishing the final two innings of game two yesterday, which was suspended due to darkness. Vincennes finished off the 18-10 win. Vincennes also won game three of the series 10-7 after riding a big first inning.

GALLATIN, Tenn. – The Vincennes University Trailblazers picked up a big win over an NJCAA Division-I baseball team Wednesday afternoon as the Blazers took advantage of seven walks to come away with a 4-1 win at Volunteer State. VU wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as lead-off hitter freshman Ethan Burdette (Linton, Ind.) reached base on a bunt single and sophomore Colin Long (Evansville, Ind.) followed him with a walk. An RBI single by freshman Colton Evans (Henderson, Ky.) drove in Burdette as Long scored on a throwing error later in the inning to give Vincennes an early 2-0 lead.
