Dennis Chattin has led the Trailblazer men’s golf team since 2003. His program has been crowned national champions three times, winning NJCAA titles in 2013, 2016, and 2018. Under his leadership, the Trailblazers have posted other significant finishes at national championship tournaments, placing third, fifth, and seventh.
Coach Chattin was inducted to the NJCAA Men's Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2022.
Coach Chattin is the recipient of National Coach of the Tournament honors three times and NJCAA Region 12 Coach of the Year honors six times. He has coached six region championship teams. Coach Chattin has mentored 12 All-Americans.
He has a master’s degree in Math Education from Indiana State University.
Before VU, he taught mathematics at North Knox High School for 10 years. He was also the Warriors’ head golf coach and varsity assistant basketball coach for nine years.
He was employed by Farm Bureau Insurance for more than 20 years. He held several positions within the company, including Regional Sales Manager for a 33-county segment of Indiana. He concluded his career with Farm Bureau as an agent in the Vincennes Farm Bureau Office.
Coach Chattin currently owns All American Car Wash, Liberty Car Wash, and Ducky’s Car Wash. He is married to Beth, a realtor at FCTucker in Vincennes, and the couple has two children. Ryan, a former MVP in golf at Ball State University, is a co-owner of Goosehead Insurance Agency in Vincennes and Brooke, who played basketball at North Knox, is now with Grifols Plasma Infusion Company.
