VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University great and NBA Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo is truly a trailblazer, and the NJCAA is celebrating his outstanding contributions and accomplishments with a special honor. McAdoo was inducted into the inaugural 2021 NJCAA Foundation Hall of Fame class on June 24. The NJCAA Hall of Fame seeks to honor individuals who have paved the way for opportunities at the two-year level, athletically, professionally, and those who have impacted the NJCAA through other areas of influence. McAdoo and six others received in a virtual ceremony the highest honor the NJCAA bestows upon individuals. "It’s an honor to have been selected to the inaugural 2021 National Junior College Hall of Fame Class,” McAdoo said during his acceptance speech. "I’m extremely appreciative of my time at Vincennes and to be recognized with this prestigious award. My time in junior college helped me lay the foundation for my hall-of-fame NBA career. The two years I spent at Vincennes not only helped me mature as a student but also prepared me for the biggest stage of NCAA Division I basketball. I won my first national championship at Vincennes University."
VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer men’s basketball program has had some recent success searching for talent north of the border and will look to continue this trend during the 2021-22 season after signing 6-foot-1 point guard Marcus Clarke-Moore earlier this week. Marcus played last season for Aim High Prep in South Carolina, a team that the Trailblazers scrimmaged just before the 2020-21 season, although Marcus did not play in that game. Marcus would however lead Aim High this past season by averaging 21.7 points, 5.2 assists and three rebounds per game.
VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University men’s basketball program has been hard at work this offseason, trying to find the next group of players that will dawn the blue and gold next season. Vincennes came up with another two big signings in the past couple of weeks in six-foot-nine big man Dende Ceder and point guard Ketaan Wyatt, Jr. Dende Ceder – 6’9” 220 – Forward

VINCENNES, Ind. – Trailblazer guard DJ Brewton announced on twitter Tuesday night that he will be returning to Alcorn State University in Mississippi. “Alcorn State has been consistent throughout the year recruiting me,” Brewton said of his decision. “They were considerate of the injury I’ve been fighting since late December.” Brewton helped guide the Blazers to a 17-7 record during the 2021 season and led VU to their record-setting ninth-straight NJCAA National Championship tournament appearance.
VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University men’s basketball coaching staff have been hitting the recruiting trail hard this offseason. With only three players slated to return from last year’s Trailblazer squad that finished with a 17-7 record, Hall of Fame head coach Todd Franklin, along with Assistants Brian Davis and Jim Glash have been busy in the month since the NJCAA National Tournament. VINCENNES, Ind. – VU freshman forward Justin Archer was named an NJCAA All-American Honorable mention this week after a big freshman season for the blue and gold. Archer stepped into his role of being the Blazers go-to scorer in the low post this season, leading the team with an average of 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while also adding 1.4 blocks per game. Archer got his VU career started with a bang, scoring in double-figures in his first six games for the Blazers, including a 21-point outing against Triton in the third game of the season.

VINCENNES, Ind. – 2019 National Champion Randy Tucker announced earlier this week that he is committing to play basketball next season at Wisconsin-Green Bay. Tucker will join a Phoenix squad led by second-year head coach Will Ryan, who is the son of former Wisconsin basketball coach Bo Ryan. In his first season at Green Bay, Ryan helped guide the Phoenix to an 8-17 record with an 8-12 record in Horizon League play.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The 2021 Vincennes University Trailblazer season came to an end Monday afternoon after VU fell in the opening round of the 2021 NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament to Holmes (Miss.) 71-66. VU got off to a slow start offensively, falling behind 9-3 early, before going on a 7-0 scoring run to take the lead. The Bulldogs answered back with a 6-0 scoring run of their own and held the lead the rest of the half, heading into the break with a 37-31 advantage.

Hutchinson, Kan. – The No. 15-seed Vincennes University Trailblazers received an At-Large bid to the NJCAA National Championship tournament last weekend and are putting together their final preparations for their first round matchup with the Holmes College Bulldogs of Mississippi. Holmes comes into the NJCAA Tournament as the Gulf Region Champions, after pulling off three-straight upset wins over LSU-Eunice, top-seeded Pearl River and No. 2-seed Northwest Mississippi in the Gulf District tournament. The Bulldogs are 15-3 on the season after playing a complete Division-I schedule this year.

VINCENNES, Ind. – It’s become known as ‘The Streak’ around Vincennes this season and with last Sunday’s NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament selection show, the streak reaches a new milestone. The Vincennes University men’s basketball team received an At-Large bid to the 2021 NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., setting a new NJCAA record for most consecutive tournament appearances with nine. The previous record holder was Moberly Area (MO), then known as just Moberly, set the original record of eight in 1958.

CARTERVILLE, Ill. – The No. 20-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers joined a growing group of schools fighting for eight at-large bids to the NJCAA Division I National tournament in Hutchinson, Kan. after falling 77-68 to No. 12 John A. Logan in the Central District Championship game Friday night. The Volunteers jumped out to the early lead, gaining a 13-5 advantage. Vincennes would respond to narrow the margin to 23-20 midway through the first half, before Logan would expand the lead to double-digits just before the half. A three-point basket at the buzzer gave the Vols a 39-26 lead at the break on their home floor.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The No. 20-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers have had a very impressive start to their postseason after getting their second-consecutive wire-to-wire win Wednesday night over Shawnee, 79-49. Vincennes brought the energy from the tip as a Randy Tucker three and a John Ukomadu dunk ignited a 9-0 scoring run to open the game for VU. The lead would hold at nine points midway through the first half, before the Trailblazers went on a 14-3 scoring run to head into the locker room with a 39-24 advantage.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The No. 20-ranked Vincennes University Trailblazers started their postseason run with a great showing at home, winning over Kaskaskia 73-47 at the P.E. Complex. The Trailblazers advance to the NJCAA Division I Central District Semi-Finals, where Vincennes will play host to Shawnee Wednesday, April 7, tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. eastern. Vincennes took control of the game early, taking the lead in the first two minutes of play and never relinquished it, going on a 13-2 scoring run to take a 13-4 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The No. 20 Vincennes University Trailblazers fell behind early in the final regular-season game of the season to Wabash Valley in the first half, trailing by 12 points midway through the half. The Blazers responded late in the first half and carried that momentum through the second half to come away with the 62-48 win over the Warriors at the P.E. Complex. Vincennes got the scoring started early, jumping out to a 5-0 lead, before Wabash Valley would respond with a 19-3 scoring run of their own.
